Meet Shan

a.k.a “Dawn Woman”

Raised in the prairies of Turtle Island as a strong Ininwak and Anishinaabe woman and now based in Victoria, British Columbia. Fuelled by a passion to help people and empowered by the drive and mission to leave behind a legacy for the next generations to come.

I am a multi-faceted creative soul ready to serve you and your community through heart centred leadership toward powerful reclamation and empowerment. I love that through the years I have helped facilitate healing, storytelling and reclamation to people from all over the world through the gifts of dance, content creation, writing, motivational speaking and now as a holistic life coach and business mentor for the black, indigenous and women of colour (BIWOC) community.

I am a strong advocate for sustainable intentional living, reclamation, spiritual and cultural practice and unconditional love for all beings. I believe I am here to co-create a new, balanced, empowered world together where we may all rise into our power and unique gifts while remaining rooted in spirit and ancestral wisdom in order to create impact in the global collective.

Digging deeper to the roots

I began dancing at the age of 3, evolving into a highly sought after world class internationally known hoop dance at the age of 13. Since then I have performed worldwide from the amazon jungles of Ecuador, to the coast lines of Hawaii and beyond. I have graced global stages, taught the art of dance to people of all ages and backgrounds, collaborated with top organizations and spread cultural understanding to a variety of rooms. Throughout my 20’s I started to experience multiple awakenings and knew that I was meant for more. This lead me through a journey of deep self-discovery and remembrance. Ultimately, it all lead me to the world of life coaching, learning self empowered healing modalities including things like breath work, neurolinguistic programming (NLP), rewiring, mindset work, hypnotherapy, emotional freedom techniques (EFT), timeline therapy and so much more. Experiencing many rock bottoms before, I have known what it feels like to be held back by limiting beliefs, stagnancy, crippling anxiety and depression. In the past, I have felt small, invisible, voiceless and disempowered. However, after many years of devotion in applying what i’ve leaned and dedicating my self to self development, growth, healing and working with exceptional mentors and teachings I have created massive shifts within my own reality and I now feel ready to assist you in yours and be of service to the greater collective.

The participation within my community has brought prestigious recognition including the Top 40 Under 40 Manitoba Award for 2017, a Manitoba Youth Achievement Award for Artistic Performance, the community champion award for volunteerism, the Anita Neville Member of Parliament Award, second runner up for Miss Indian World in 2017 and other recognition from the community.

What Makes Shan Different?

  • I share my work and insight on the ever-growing Youtube Channel, with our Instagram community of 6.7K and within the local community.
